Session 1 of 4
Sizing Whole Home Energy from Alternative Sources
Today's large new builds are looking at ways and means of incorporating alternative energy solutions into their homes at the design stage. Participants will learn how to identify the best solution based on the customers consumption habits, the grids capacity and the sites solar, wind and water power access. Simple tools will be presented that participants can use to confidently identify these metrics and serve tomorrow's clients.

Session 2 of 4
Alternative Energy System Options
An exploration of Grid Tied power systems ranging from standard Net Metering to Grid Zero technologies and the self managed means that these systems provide client benefits. Learn how Grid Zero, as a grid connected battery based option, maximizes the portion of energy consumption met by the renewable source, while minimizing the portion purchased from the utility by fully utilizing energy storage without requiring a sell-back of power to the utility grid to achieve good system economic. Participants will leave with a working understanding of these options, their benefits and costs.

Whole Home Off Grid Power System Design Criterium
Off grid power systems are now considered more reliable than the electrical grid. Off Grid power equipment is now so advanced it operates without any intervention, powering your home just as if you were on the grid with online remote tools to monitor, manage and track your consumption. Learn about how off grid energy systems are custom designed to match the customers’ demands. Participants will learn to identify total electrical consumption, location considerations, exposure and budget factors. Participants will leave with a comprehensive understanding for the choices available and how these choices are flexible to any size, use or condition. A review of upcoming battery technologies with lifespans that exceed 20 years will also be explored.

Session 4 of 4
Community Alternative Energy MIcrogrids
A microgrid is a small-scale power grid that can operate independently or in conjunction with the area’s main electrical grid. Participants will learn why a community or group of homes would choose a microgrid, how they work and how much they can power. Learn how microgrids offer access to power in remote locations, increased power quality, lower cost and reduced environmental impacts. Off-grid microgrids are self-sustaining, autonomous energy systems that operate independently of the main grid. They are comprised of solar, wind and/or water power with a large energy storage component and its own distribution lines and system. Learn how whole communities can go off grid with today's advanced technologies
