Awards

The OAA Awards runs on a two-year cycle. It includes the Design Excellence Awards, Best Emerging Practice, and career achievement awards (like the Lifetime Design Achievement and the Medal of Service) in even years (2024, 2026, etc.) alternating with SHIFT Challenge program in odd years. (2025, 2027 etc.) The SHIFT Architecture Challenge  was created to highlight the distinct contribution that the architecture profession and architectural thinking bring to addressing key societal issues.

The OAA is thrilled to announce the 2026 OAA Award winners. These projects, practices, and individuals will be celebrated at this year’s OAA Conference, Collaboration Powering Innovation, taking place next month in the Waterloo Region. Congratulations to all of the winners!

The Ontario Association of Architects is thrilled to reveal the winners of its 2026 Design Excellence and Service Awards. The winners will be celebrated at the Celebration of Excellence taking part as part of the OAA Conference. Congratulations to all of the winners!

SHIFT2025 Selections
The OAA announced the six selections for the SHIFT2025 Challenge, which focused on the theme of "Reshaping Communities." The teams behind the projects were celebrated at the SHIFT Challenge Celebration and are featured on the SHIFT Challenge Website and the SHIFT 2025 Book.
