Council

Council Overview

The OAA is governed by a Council of 15 Architects elected by the membership, and up to five members of the public appointed by the Province of Ontario. Council sets policy direction for the Association. Its work is assisted by more than 300 volunteers working on numerous committees, task groups and 14 Local Architectural Societies throughout Ontario, as well as by an Association staff of 32. Key Dates

2026 Meetings: January 22, March 5, May 12, June 25, September 17, and December 4.

Meetings are currently being held in a hybrid format, with Councillors attending in-person at the OAA Headquarters or through Zoom. (The May meeting will be held in the Kitchener-Waterloo area in the lead up to the Conference.)

OAA members or the public may attend the open portion of Council meetings virtually--contact the Association's Tina Carfa in advance of a meeting for more information. (See below for agendas and meeting packages.)

The 2025 Annual General Meeting was held as a virtual event on April 8 and can be viewed on the OAA’s YouTube channel. The 2026 virtual AGM will be held on April 15 from 1 to 2:30 pm.
