Pye & Richards – Temprano & Young (PR-TY) is a respected, creative, and innovative architectural and interior design firm located in Ottawa, Ontario. We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join our leadership team and play a key role in delivering complex commercial, institutional, and government projects across Ontario.
This role is suited to a seasoned professional who can lead projects from inception through construction completion, acting as Architect and Prime Consultant while ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading architectural and multi-disciplinary consultant teams in the delivery of projects from programming and conceptual design through construction documentation, tendering, and construction administration. The role requires a strong working knowledge of Ontario codes, acts, and standards, and the ability to manage projects of varying scale, complexity, and delivery method.
Minimum Qualifications

Registered Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA)

Absolute minimum of five (5) years from date of OAA registration

Degree or Diploma in Architecture

Proven experience acting as Prime Consultant on commercial and institutional projects in Ontario

Eligibility to practice architecture in Ontario without restriction
*LEED credentials, BCIN, PMP, and bilingualism in French and English are considered strong assets.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Lead projects through all phases of delivery, including:

Act as Architect and Prime Consultant, coordinating:

Lead design and technical reviews, ensuring:

Manage client relationships, consultant coordination, schedules, and deliverables

Prepare and review reports, drawings, specifications, and construction documentation

Participate in and lead presentations to clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and stakeholders
Technical & Professional Skills

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required)

Working knowledge of Revit (required or to be developed)

Experience with SketchUp and Microsoft Office 365

The pay range for this position begins at $75,000 and is subject to discussion based on credentials and practical experience.
