The Opportunity (What this role is)
We are hiring a Technical Architect (Project Lead – Execution). This role is for an OAA‑licensed Architect with a minimum of five years of hands‑on project execution experience who will own the day‑to‑day running of projects and keep teams moving.
This is a delivery‑focused role: coordinating consultants, managing redlines, advancing drawing sets, following up on open items, and clearing obstacles so designers stay productive and principals remain focused on leadership and design.
For the right candidate, the role extends beyond execution. As the practice grows, you will have a voice in refining workflows, improving coordination systems, and shaping how projects are delivered studio‑wide. This is a hands‑on leadership role grounded in real production—not a managerial abstraction.
Why Join AMRA J Architects Inc. (aja.design)
AMRA J Architects Inc. is a boutique architectural practice specializing in technically complex renovations and adaptive reuse, with deep experience across institutional, healthcare, and educational environments.
We are a collaborative studio that values clarity, quality, and practical problem‑solving, with direct access to leadership when timely decisions are required.
Our studio is located in Hamilton’s Empire Times Building, a revitalized heritage property that brings together two century‑old buildings with modern interventions. The workspace is loft‑style, with exposed brick, original architectural elements, and a working studio environment shared with other architects and engineers. The setting supports focused production, face‑to‑face collaboration, and quick problem‑solving when issues need to be resolved in real time.
You’ll Be a Strong Fit If You…
- Are an OAA‑licensed Architect with a minimum of five years of experience (mandatory)
- Have strong project delivery, production, and coordination experience
- Are highly proficient in Revit and comfortable owning model and drawing workflows
- Can run with a project file, anticipate needs, and close loops without hand‑holding
- Are organized, calm under pressure, and communicate clearly
- Enjoy mentoring junior staff and improving how the team works—not just what they produce
Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a subsidized benefits program (health, short‑ and long‑term disability, and life insurance). Expected salary is aligned with senior execution responsibility and experience, with a range of $78,000–$85,000

Your approach to schedules, deadlines, and issue resolution.
