The OAA supports the use of industry standard documents. The use of standard documents allows the parties to concentrate on project specific issues rather than boilerplate sections. To that end, the OAA developed several standard contracts for use with clients and consultants which balance the needs of all parties.

This is the corresponding usage guide (with instructions) for the OAA 800-2021 short form contract which provides background information about how to fill in and use the contract. It also includes a sample contract and a sample attachments file to indicate the type of information to be entered in the various text boxes.

Legislative Change: Updated Construction Act Now In Force

Effective January 1, 2026, significant amendments to the Construction Act and its associated regulations came into force, affecting both contracts for professional services and construction.
