This virtual training program—developed with support from Natural Resources Canada’s Codes Acceleration Fund—is designed to equip building officials with the knowledge and skills to confidently review and approve high-performance building projects under the NECB and its higher tiers.
Through 4 interactive sessions, participants will explore building enclosure requirements, mechanical systems, energy modeling, and plan-checking procedures to streamline approvals and support sustainable construction. By addressing knowledge gaps and reducing reliance on external reviewers, this training helps municipalities accelerate approvals, lower costs, and strengthen compliance with Canada’s evolving building performance standards.
