Presenters:
Christina Linda Chan, Design Contracts Coordinator, Ontario Transit Group
Christina Linda Chan is a design professional and transit infrastructure specialist based in Toronto, with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of architecture, mobility, and city-building. At the Ontario Transit Group (OTG)—a joint venture of Ferrovial (Spain) and VINCI (France)—she coordinated the architectural design of the new King-Bathurst and Queen-Spadina stations on the Ontario Line South Civil project. These complex urban infill stations are embedded within dense, heritage-rich neighbourhoods, where her work integrates transit infrastructure into existing streetscapes while reconciling technical requirements, architectural quality, heritage conservation, and community expectations.
A licensed architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), Christina holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, enhancing her skills in strategy, leadership, and complex project delivery. She recently transitioned to a new role in OTG’s Design Contracts department, managing design scope, risk, and consultant relationships. Her background includes roles at Stantec and Diamond Schmitt Architects in Toronto, and the Toronto and London, UK office of Swedish real estate firm Akelius.
Her Master’s thesis at the University of Waterloo on Toronto’s PATH system catalyzed her career focus on infrastructure within the urban fabric. International experience in Melbourne and Berlin informs her ability to bridge communication gaps with multinational consultants like Danish firm COWI, recognizing diverse
approaches to design challenges.
In this OAA webinar, “Integrating Transit into the Urban Heritage Fabric,” Christina shares lessons from the King-Bathurst and Queen-Spadina stations, including strategies for constrained sites, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and enhancing urban character through transit projects
