The Building Equality in Architecture Capital Region (BEACAP) has officially launched, joining the national BEA network in its mission to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion in architecture. This volunteer-led initiative unites architects, designers, and advocates to foster a design culture that prioritizes inclusivity and reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
To mark its launch, BEACAP is hosting a logo design competition in collaboration with Ottawa Architecture Week (OAW). The competition invites creatives to design a logo that embodies the chapter’s identity and vision. The winner will receive signed copies of
Canadian Modern Architecture, 1967 to the Present and
Feminist City: Making Space in a Man-Made World, along with the chance to collaborate on BEACAP’s visual identity.
BEACAP will debut at OAW’s Vernissage event on
October 3. For competition details and updates, visit the
BEACAP website.
