From October 24–28, 2025, OCAD University will host "Transforming Birthspace: A Global Colloquium," a groundbreaking event focused on reimagining birth environments worldwide. This conference, paired with the exhibition "Transforming Birth through Architecture and Design" (running October 24–November 10, 2025), is the result of a five-year SSHRC-funded research project aimed at improving global birth space design.

Featuring an international, transdisciplinary lineup of experts, the colloquium will foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing to shape the future of birth space design. A key outcome will be the creation of a policy paper to guide future innovations in this field.
