OAA Publishes Regulatory Notice on Practice Continuity
Regulatory Notice RN.13 OAA Practice Continuity was recently published to ensure members understand their obligations under the Architects Act and Regulation 27 when an unexpected event leads to the temporary or permanent inability for key personnel to perform their duties. Certificate of practice (CoP) holders are required to ensure architectural services are always provided under the personal supervision and direction of an OAA member, while practices must also continue to meet ownership and governance requirements, including majority ownership and control by members of the OAA.
Proactively planning for disruptions will not only help ensure regulatory obligations are met, but also supports resilience and demonstrates professionalism. This safeguards project schedules, contractual obligations, and client trust.
