The new 2021 Mid-Rise Wood Building Guide, from the Canadian Wood Council and Wood-Works, explores the related possibilities within Canadian code requirements. It will be the focus of a December 16 webinar, led by architect Veronica Madonna (member of the OAA’s Sustainable Built Environments Committee [SBEC]) and technical consultant Steven Street. The two will identify the key considerations influencing structural form when designing a mid-rise building with light-frame and mass timber, as well as design opportunities.
Early in the new year, Tana Turner will discuss “Human Rights in the Workplace” on January 6. The course is one of three that fulfils the OAA’s mandatory requirement for education related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Both events are part of the OAA Continuing Education Webinar Series, which has live closed-captioning and was created to expand learning opportunities to help Architects and Licensed Technologists OAA meet their ConEd Program requirements before end of cycle on June 30. Some sessions have already been announced for early 2022 and more will be shared soon.
