As mentioned in the July 2025 edition of the Practice Advisory newsletter, the Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) released electronic versions of the key CCDC 5A, 5B, and 17 for construction management contracts, as well as the CCDC 30 Integrated Project Delivery Contract. CCDC 5A, 5B, 17, and 30 have been available since the end of June 2025. For a one-year transition period (i.e. until the end of June 2026), CCDC will continue to sell and provide the previous versions of the forms through their Document Outlets (such as the OAA Store).
Updates to the Practice Tips PT. 23.0 Continues
The OAA’s Practice Resource Committee (PRC) and OAA Council reviewed Practice Tip PT.23.2, Construction Management Contract. With support of legal counsel and input from Pro-Demnity Insurance Co., the Practice Tip has been updated to reflect outdated references and resources have been removed or updated. Additional commentary helps clarify some of the technical requirements around construction management projects, and minor restructuring improves the flow of information.
