The
Royal Architectural Institute of Canada is working with the Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) and
Athabasca University to expand capacity of accessibility certification training for the architectural community.
The 10-week Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) Training online course provides participants with the fundamental skills and knowledge to measure meaningful accessibility and promote increased access through adoption of Universal Design principles.
“The RHFAC course can change the way participants experience the built environment, and help them identify barriers they didn’t notice before. It’s a bridge that communicates the realities of lived experience to industry professionals,” said Doramy Ehling, CEO of the Rick Hansen Foundation.
After successfully completing the course, participants can write an online exam, administered by CSA Group, to become a designated RHFAC Professional and be listed in a directory.
The next course runs
September 12 to November 21, 2022. For more, visit the
RAIC website.
