February marks Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians that have shaped the country’s history and culture. This year’s theme, “Together We Are Stronger”, emphasizes the importance of collaboration in building a more inclusive future.
The OAA recognizes its public interest mandate is best realized when its membership reflects the society it serves. To that end, it continuously strives to eliminate barriers to work and advancement within the architecture profession. As such, the Association continues its efforts to eliminate barriers within architecture through its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion page by highlighting the OAA’s initiatives and providing links to news, events, and organizations like the Black Architects and Interior Designers Association (BAIDA).
