The 2025 Brownie Awards, hosted by the Canadian Brownfields Network, celebrated excellence in remediating, reclaiming, and rehabilitating brownfield sites across Canada. The event brought together hundreds of professionals, including architects, urban planners, environmental engineers, and contractors, to honour innovative projects that transform underutilized spaces into vibrant, sustainable developments.
Among the winners were several outstanding OAA architectural practices, including Architecture 49 for the University of Ottawa Health Sciences Building; ABA Architects for Charlie West in Kitchener-Waterloo; and Core Architects for Galleria on the Park in Toronto.
These projects highlight the dedication and collaboration required to tackle complex brownfield challenges, showcasing the remarkable impact of thoughtful design and engineering.
